Well, Bethesda has certainly had quite the week, haven’t they? First came the reveal of TheSurvivor2099 being a hoax, then earlier today was the leak that actually seemed to confirmed the rumors put forth by TheSurvivor2099 (and much older sources) that Fallout 4 would, in fact, be set in the city of Boston. And now, some news that was actually put forth by Bethesda themselves rather than a third party has been released; The Elder Scrolls Online now has a release date.
Well, rather, it has a confirmed release date of April 4, 2014 on PC and a confirmed release window for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 of “June 2014”, quoting the press release we received today and also seen in an update from Game Director Matt Firor at the official TESO site.
That April 4, 2014 date can also be seen at the tail end of the new trailer released today, entitled “War in Cyrodiil”. It seems to highlight the precarious political situation in homeland of the Empire, last glimpsed in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and how the throne is ripe for the taking by someone like, say, you. The trailer can be seen above, and remember; the beta for The Elder Scrolls Online begins, if you got an invite, sometime in late March on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
