This upcoming spring is proving to be an excellent time to be any type of gamer, with big releases on the horizon for nearly every platform. Blizzard has just announced that Diablo III‘s first expansion, Reaper of Souls will release on March 25, 2014 for PC/Mac. The expansion features a redesigned loot system, new enemies, an all new Act V, a higher level cap, and the new Adventure Mode, which promises replayability through Bounties and Nephalem Rifts.
You can pre-order either digital version right now, the Standard Edition ($39.99) or Deluxe Edition ($59.99). The Deluxe Edition comes with three additional character slots, a Spectral Hound Minion with Aesthetic Artifacts, as well as some in-game content for World of Warcraft and Starcraft II.
A physical collector’s edition will also be available which will include everything from the Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as a hardcover art book, blu-ray behind the scenes disc set, and a mouse pad featuring the new villain Malthael.
Diablo III took a lot of flak, but I personally enjoyed it quite a bit and am looking forward to the redesigned loot drops. I haven’t gotten much into a PC game in a while, but I’ll be firing up this expansion when it releases.
