Twitch Streaming Set To Hit Xbox One in 2014

Microsoft’s Xbox One reveal featured talk of a partnership with the popular streaming giant Twitch.tv back in June. Yesterday, Xbox Wire revealed that the Twitch streaming capabilities are still being worked on and that they won’t be available on the system until sometime next year.

Considering that Microsoft talked up the partnership with Twitch, it’s surprising that it won’t be available at launch on the Xbox One. If you’re itching for a Twitch fix though, you can always stream from a PlayStation 4 if that’s the make-it-or-break-it feature for you. In any case, the Xbox One Twitch app will have plenty of achievements for all of the achievement junkies out there. The achievements available are detailed below:

  • Watch one hour of live video on Twitch to become a Newcomer
  • Watch 10 hours of live video on Twitch for Competitive
  • Watch 100 hours of live video on Twitch for Best Viewer
  • Watch one hour of live video on Twitch channels that have less than 10 viewers to be the Hipster
  • Watch 10 hours of live video on Twitch channels that have less than 10 viewers and become theTalent Scout
  • Max Bandwidth is received by watching a single channel on Twitch for more than eight hours consecutively
  • Around The Clock is exactly that, just watch at least one minute of live video on Twitch in each hour of a full day
  • Prime Time, simply: watch a total of 10 hours of live video on Twitch between peak viewing hours from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m., on a weekday
