With the PlayStation 4 releasing in Europe and Australia regions today, Sony has announced some features will be disabled on launch day.
Due to the unprecedented amount of players on PSN during the North America region launch, Sony is once again expecting record breaking numbers for the Europe and Australia regions launch. In order to ensure players receive a positive online experience, Sony is disabling a couple of features at launch but will switch them back on a few days later once the intensity settles down.
The features that are being temporarily disabled are:
- What’s New – Discover and engage with all of your friends’ PS4 related activity
- Content Information Screen – See friends’ activity and information specific to the title you are looking at
All other features of PSN will be fully available on day one. This includes online multiplayer, trophies, messaging, adding friends, video sharing, etc.
