In 2007, Nintendo partnered up with Norwegian Cruise Lines to offer their Wii console as a form of entertainment. That deal was successful enough that Nintendo is now offering up their Wii U for the entire fleet of ships. Nintendo will be offering up The Wonderful 101, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, New Super Luigi U, Super Mario 3D World and Pikmin 3 for the passengers on board. Richard Ambrose, Vice President of Entertainment Norwegian Cruise Lines had this to say: “the Wii consoles have always been extremely popular among our guests. The new Wii U systems are guaranteed to take gaming on board to the next level, and will surely be a hit.”
Now I’m not sure why you would want to play video games when the ship has big pools, various sports, and plenty of live entertainment, but hey, I’ve also never experienced playing on a giant Wii Wall. I just don’t know how cool that is. If you ever plan on traveling on a cruise ship however, and you might think you or your children will be bored with the amenities, Norwegian has a fleet of Wii U’s to help you out.
