Is Crash Bandicoot Coming Back From the Grave? Activision Hopes So.

You remember Crash right? Lovable, crazy, bright orange bandicoot? Mascot of the Playstation way back in the PS1 days? Sure you do. His 18 total games, released anywhere from 1996 to 2009, were the first taste of 3D platforming for many young gamers, myself included. In a recent interview with GameInformer, Activision denied rumors that they had sold the rights to Crash Bandicoot. Furthermore, the publisher talked of hopes to bring the series back, saying “we continue to explore ways in which we could bring the beloved series back to life.”

Crash may not be dead, but as of now he’s still buried 6 feet under. Exploring options is better than nothing, but this is hardly a confirmation of things to come. His most recent appearances have both been on mobile titles. Is a full-blown, console bound revival in the works? What kind of Crash game do you want to see on Sony’s newest console? Personally, I’d love a revival in the form of a traditional platformer but a new Crash Team Racing game would work just as well.
