Blizzard seems to be bringing out their back catalog. Atop the recently rereleased Blackthorne, it was revealed at BlizzCon 2013 that they are working on getting Warcraft and Warcraft 2 up and running on modern day computers. According to Polygon, Blizzard’s J. Allen Brack answered a question during a panel about the possibility of resuscitating these games.
“So, we actually have a guy on our team — actually several guys on our team — who are actually working on a side project to do something like that in some form or fashion,” Brack told the fan. No more details were given. Seriously though, they ported Blackthorne of all games, so this doesn’t seem like much of a stretch.
If I may just point out they are sitting on both The Lost Vikings and Rock n’ Roll Racing which are far superior then any of these other games. Let’s all hope they get around to porting those as well. If you want to get really crazy they should release the beta of the cancelled point and click adventure game Warcraft Adventures. For historical and comedic purposes.
