Venture Tales seeks $20,000 in crowdfunding through an Indiegogo campaign. Venture Tales has the goal of teaching about running a start up business through the entertaining power of video games. The game intends to feature in-depth financial data and control, employee management, dealings with legal matters, and a bunch of other aspects of running a business. There are also plans to factor in the player’s character in a life simulator. The player will have to deal with personal things such as stress and family while running a business.
Part of the funding will go to business consultants to help make the game as accurate and educational as possible. Christian Ibarra’s stated goal is for Venture Tales to “try to educate and inform people in order to give them the confidence to start-up their own real-world company, and trough it affect their society in a positive way, while reaping the personal benefits a successful business might bring. It is meant to inspire and be fun too!”
Education in video games is an always an admirable intention with lots of potential. Crowdfunding is of course a bit risky, but there is no harm in taking a look. The link can be found here.
