Valve Posts 30% Steam Growth, Boasts 65 Million Users

Valve announced today that the Steam community has grown 30% in the past 12 months, from 50 million registered users in September 2012 to an impressive 65 million now.  Then 10-year-old gaming community platform outperforms Xbox Live’s 48 million users, and with the recent announcements of Steam OS, Steam Machines, and much more lined up for the future, I don’t think it’s slowing anytime soon.

I think that it’s safe to say that Steam has truly claimed it’s place as the go-to for PC gaming purchases, community, and play. I know quite a good number of PC-centric (or PC-only) gamers, and for most of them, they’re not just on Steam — it’s the only way they’ll buy and play their games.
