The launch of Grand Theft Auto V‘s much anticipated multiplayer mode was a disaster. People were losing data left and right, servers couldn’t handle the traffic, and it just left most people in a general state of discontent. So how is Rockstar planning on making everyone happy again? By paying everyone off.
The stimulus package is going to be delivered to players who accessed GTA V online in the month of October. Basically, anyone who accessed the multiplayer while it was bugged out is going to be receiving a significant lump sum of cash. In the interest of keeping the in-game economy balanced, Rockstar is paying players in the form of two, separate $250,000 payments for a total of $500,000. Rockstar stated that “For players who experienced cloud server errors, connection issues, and lost game progress and characters in these first days of GTA Online, we hope this GTA$ helps to facilitate a fresh start or makes your continued life in Los Santos and Blaine County extra sweet.” It goes to show that Rockstar clearly knows the way to every gamers heart: free stuff.
