Remember Doodle Jump? You should. You might even still be playing it now. iOS games with real lasting factor might be hit-and-miss, but Lima Sky’s platformer was a home run, and for a while was the biggest thing on the mobile market. Now, if there need be any more evidence for the blend between handheld consoles and Android/iOS, Doodle Jump is making another jump: to the 3DS and DS.
“Nintendo is synonymous with great platformers, adorable characters and on-the-go gaming,” says Igor Pusenjak from Lima Sky. “Doodle Jump is a natural fit on Nintendo’s handhelds. We’re thrilled to bring the Doodler to audiences that have yet to meet him while bringing great new adventures to our existing fans.”
The DS will be receiving Doodle Jump Journey, a port of the vanilla game with the Classic, Jungle and Space themes in Endless Mode, but the 3DS’ Doodle Jump Adventures will be a much greater expansion, with a new ‘Adventure’ mode and 48 levels.
Nintendo and Lima Sky are zipped on an exact release date as of yet, but have confirmed it as later this year.
