This year’s BlizzCon attendees are going to have the first chance to get hands-on with Diablo III‘s first expansion, titled Reaper of Souls. This time though, they’ll be wielding a DualShock 4 controller. Yep, this means that Diablo III: Reaper of Souls is headed to PS4 next year, along with the original game. No word on whether or not they will be packaged together, but it’d be awesome to see it all included as one $60 purchase. Wishful thinking?
The expansion features the new Crusader class, a mid-range melee class based off the Paladin from Diablo II. Convention-goes will get a chance to wander the haunted streets of Westmarch to take on Death itself. The PlayStation 4 version will also include new social features and touchpad implementation.
This is excellent news for console gamers; I had a ton of fun with Diablo III on PC, but I always prefer relaxing on my couch and would love to dive back in when Reaper of Souls releases next year. Keith reviewed and quite liked Diablo III on PS3, and it was well received by fans of the series, so it only makes sense for Blizzard to expand the franchise onto PS4.
