While I’m sure many of you have watched the anime or even read the manga of Dengeki Bunko, I doubt many of you know much about the company. Dengeki Bunko is a large manga publisher in Japan responsible for hits like Inukami and Shakugan no Shana. They are owned by ASCII who do a good deal of publication across different mediums, including video games. Now the group has commissioned a fighting game together with Sega that will combine many of their most popular properties in one crossover event.
Above you can see characters like Kirino Kousaka from Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai, Shana from Shakugan no Shana, Asuna Yuuki from Sword Art Online and Mikoto Mikasa from To Aru Kagaku no Railgun battling it out similar in fashion to Persona 4 Arena. Dengeki has confirmed that Kuroyukihime from Accel World and Shizuo Heiwajima from Durarara will also enter the arena.
The game looks promising and I like the fact that Kirino seems to have a lot of zany outfits in her attacks. The burst character assists also look promising and it will be fun to see who gets matched up with some of the newer characters. While anime games rarely have a chance at getting localized over here due to licensing claims, I really do hope this gets to come out across the water.
Since most of these series are viewable online for free, I’d recommend you try them out. Check out the links below and get brushed up on some anime:
