One of the newest features to be included in Call of Duty: Ghosts has been leaked by someone on imgur. The pictures show a new “Extinction” mode that seems to work as a type of substitute for the popular Zombies mode that was introduced in Call of Duty: World at War. While Activision has not given any details about this mode themselves, they did tease it with a short video clip on the official Call of Duty instagram.
Still, the leaked pictures reveal quite a lot about the mode as it is. Rather than zombies it seems like players will be confronting some sort of monsters. Similar to your standard multiplayer modes, players can select their class and loadout in order to tackle the challenge as they please. The images also reveal some sort of drill that likely has to be protected by players against the aliens.
This is an interesting twist on the tried-and-true formula that helped Call of Duty rocket to success, but the scarcity of details doesn’t show whether or not this is any different from Zombies mode. We will be sure to let you know once more information rolls in on Extinction mode. If you’re too excited though, you won’t have to wait very long to find out everything you need to know as Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released on November 5th for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC, as well as being launch titles for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
