Trailer for Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day

It was too much for me to pass up after seeing this.

Katsuhiro Otomo, the man behind the legendary Akira, has been working on an animated anthology piece called Short Piece. The kicker however, is that the conclusion is not an animated work like the 4 shorts preceding, but instead a game titled Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day developed by Suda51 and the loveable rogues at Grasshopper Manufacture.

Tokyo Jungle director will once again sit behind the directions seat, Akira Yamaoka will be composing, and Yusuke Kozaki, the artisti behind No More Heroes, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Liberation Maiden will be once again character designer. Can you hear my drool salivating because I want this more than anything right now.

The story follows the eponymous heroine who is a professional hitman who lives in a parking structure. Something obviously goes wrong at some point and now she’s frantically dashing in this side-scroller.

The game will be out for the PS3 with no word yet on release.
