Final Fantasy XIV was a game I dearly wanted to get into. I love the whole idea of a FF MMO and I’ve heard nothing but great things about the previous Online game Final Fantasy XI, so I was a bit on the disappointed side when only one of my friends enjoyed it, and all for the wrong reasons. The general agreement is that it left a lot to be desired, and after spending a little time with it, I couldn’t agree more.
That’s why with Square’s reboot A Realm Reborn has always been on my radar. Everything from the overhaul on graphics to the balancing and overall experience of the game really has me excited. It’s great–and a little shocking– to hear that the beta already has 1 million sign-ups. Not a bad start to one of the franchise’s more lackluster entries to say the least. I, for one, will be picking this game up to compensate for the years I missed when Final Fantasy XI came out. Still regret it to this day. . .
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn arrives on PC and PS3 August 27th. For details on the different versions, including some incredible limited editions, check out the game’s homepage and get excited!
