Good news for all the ladies, gentlemen, and courtroom aficionados out there! Earlier today, Capcom confirmed the Western release of the new installment in the Ace Attorney Franchise: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, commonly referred to as Ace Attorney 5. In an interesting move by Capcom, the game was announced for digital sale. This is more than likely a result of the franchise having low sales overall in the US, which was precisely why the second installment of Ace Attorney: Investigations never saw a US release.
Dual Destinies features the return of everyone’s favorite defense attorney, Phoenix Wright. The game is set eight years after Wright’s last official appearance in court, and the first case even features a destroyed court room (so much angst). Veteran Ace Attorney players will be sure to recognize familiar faces like Apollo and Winston Payne and will likely look forward to the new cast of characters Capcom will provide. This will also be the first Ace Attorney game on the 3DS, so it’ll be interesting to see how the gameplay changes. Who knows, maybe the investigations will be given more depth? (hehe)
Bad jokes aside, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies is slated for digital release in the US and Europe sometime in Fall 2013.
