Hey, remember that weekend last year when the entire games industry, fanbase, and enthusiast press united under one banner (for once) and gave like 4.3 billion dollars to Double Fine so they could Kickstart an old-school point-and-click adventure game? Well, that game now has a title: Broken Age!
A promotional webpage has gone up with a very brief synopsis of how the game was funded along with a synopsis of what it’s about. Here’s what it says:
“Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives. The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster–but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, a boy on a spaceship is living a solitary life under the care of a motherly computer, but he wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world. Adventures ensue.”
No release date has been stated as yet, but having donated to the project myself I’m really looking forward to seeing how this all turns out. I’m also looking forward to seeing big spender Tyler Humphrey’s name in the credits after he dropped a Benjamin into Tim Schafer’s tip jar.
