A follow up on last week’s news. CD Projekt RED, the creators of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, released a trailer today for their upcoming release Cyberpunk 2077. According to the description, the teaser depicts “how the Psycho Squad might acquire a new member”, showing an “implanted” woman with the bodies of those she killed around her, confronted by police. Assuming the teaser is a preview for the story of Cyberpunk 2077, we can reasonably guess she can be the main protagonist of the new game.
Comments on Reddit reveal a secret message at the end of the video. The most notable piece of information is their approximated release date in 2015, even though they also say their priority is “when its done”. They also say the reason they announced the game so early is that they are still building their dev team, even providing an email for which interested fans can apply. They describe their game as a story-heavy, nonlinear open world RPG, not quite unlike The Witcher series, except in a drastically different setting. Speaking of The Witcher, they also reveal the details of their “other project” on February 5th, which they strongly imply is the Witcher 3.
