[News] Project Eternity meets Base Goal, Stretch Goals Revealed

Obsidian Entertainment launched a Kickstarter just two days ago for an “isometric, party based RPG set in a new fantasy world” called Project Eternity. With the help of fans of old isometric RPGs such as Icewind Dale, Baldur’s Gate, and Planetscape: Torment, Obsidian reached their 1.1 million goal in only two days by promising to bring what players loved about those games to a modern era. They describe their game as having the complex story, tactical combat, and engaging companions that these gamers miss the most. Of course, the team behind this game contains some impressive resumes to back their endeavor, individuals of which having worked on the games mentioned before as well as Fallout: New Vegas, Neverwinter Nights, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

The Kickstarter now has a list of stretch goals which will be met if people contribute more money. These contain exciting things for the game such as a new race, a new faction, and even the ability to create a personal house.

There is no doubt gamers out there still yearn for older style RPGs that are unlikely to ever see releases again, if it wasn’t for Kickstarter and Obsidian Entertainment.
