Today Steam has announced its first 10 titles that have been chosen by its community to be picked up by the digital distribution platform. They are:
- Black Mesa
- Cry of Fear
- Heroes & Generals
- No More Room in Hell
- Project Zomboid
As one would expect, there are a few Source Engine mods featured (Black Mesa, No More Room in Hell). There is a surprising variety of game types in this list however, such as god-game (Towns — which I’m sure somebody will be buying on day one), squad-based RPG (Kenshi), and comedy point-and-click (McPixel).
Whether all or any of these titles turn out to be hits remains to be seen, but at the very least gamers can sit back and watch another Valve experiment play out before us.
