E3 started and already we are flooded with news. Microsoft, EA, and Ubisoft all had their press conferences today and I took it upon myself to gather every bit of (important) news and put them in a single, handy, news post.
So hit the jump to see all the exciting Day 1 action of E3
Halo 4 Trailer and Gameplay Demo:
Microsoft jumps head first with a brand new trailer and live demo for Halo 4. It really does look like Metroid Prime but that’s not a bad thing.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Brand new Splinter Cell game, Splinter Cell: Blacklist set for a 2013 release date.
Gears of War: Judgement
It looks like a spinoff of the popular Gears of War franchise with Cole and Baird as its lead characters. Details are a little scare on our end but if you like Gears of War then you’ll find familiar ground here.
New Madden, NHL, FIFA 13 all with Kinect voice controls!
New Forza game confirmed as an open world racing title.
SOCIAL KINECT POWER HOUR!
Lots of your favorite media services coming to your Xbox! Music! Video! Kinect! Social!
Fable: The Journey
I still don’t know what this game is. It’s in the Fable world, you use magic, it’s for Kinect.
Internet Explorer for your Xbox!
Pretty self explanatory really but you’ll be able to browse the web from your 360. Yes, with the help of the Kinect.
Xbox! Make me fit! Nike partners with Xbox
New fitness game by Nike…Kinect.
Details are scarce but Gore Verbinski’s Matter, TwistedPixel’s LocoCycle which is like NightRider? and Toy Soldier developers have Ascend: New Gods.
South Park: Stick of Truth
Matt Stone and Trey Parker come on stage to introduce their South Park RPG and save the show.
Tomb Raider continues its mission to destroy a young British researcher
New trailer and gameplay
CALL OF DUTY BLACK OPS II
Wooo! Explosions and manly military action!
Dead Space 3
Dead Space 3 revealed and trailer. It looks to take place in a snow planet and seems faster paced than the last two iterations.
Battlefield 3 Premium Subscription
Five new expansion pack and far more customizable options in weapons, tags, and other details. It costs $49.99 USD and is available on the PS3 now.
Far Cry 3 Now with 20% more nudity!
A Far Cry 3 demo showing just how much of a badass the lead protagonist is and just how batshit insane the big bad pirate man is. Looks to give the player a wide range of options in how to dispatch their enemies. Warning, NSFW.
Rayman Origins was an amazing game to play with friends and I can’t wait to get my hands on the sequel. Also it looks absolutely beautiful on the Wii U.
Assassin’s Creed 3
The exciting new entry to the Assassin’s Creed series that looks to reinvigorate the series that has been a bit lackluster the last few games.
The new IP by Ubisoft that has everyone buzzing. With good reason too because the demo looks absolutely fantastic. You play as a hacker and navigate through a digital battlefield to aid you in your plans, whether it’s to hack a phone or street lights.
Journey is the best selling PSN game of all time.
Brett must be excited.
Playstation All-Stars now on the Vita and includes Big Daddy and Nathan Drake
It’s really weird how similar this looks to Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Call of Duty Black Ops Declassified for Vita
Now you can be manly and action packed on the go!
Last of Us still looks amazing
I’m definitely putting on a rush to pick up a PS3 in time to play this when it comes out.
BEYOND: Two Souls is Quantic Dreams’ new film starring Ellen Page
Seriously though Heavy Rain sucked.
So there you have it. All the news stories I decided that I wanted to write about for the first day of E3 2012. Come back tomorrow for more updates.
